Directors statement

I created Crackman and Robyn with Shannon Methuen in hopes of breaking down the stigma of addiction within the queer community. I believe we need more stories about LGBTQIA people and our personal struggles. For me, directing this story was deeply personal and I had to dig into my addictive past and find a way to tell my story. Together with Shannon Methuen we took my story and brought it to life. We added new characters and situations but it still lays firmly on a foundation of real life experiences.

What's the film about?

A young man suffering with a drug addiction finds a new family in rehab after being rejected by his own.

Crackman & Robyn is a short film that looks at addiction and the impact it has on both those who suffer from it and the relationships with those around them - particularly family.

While being a serious subject with a heartfelt relationship story it also enjoys moments of levity and fantasy.
